Welcome. It was my wife Mary Lou’s idea to have a B&B. I resisted, but she persisted, and I have never regretted it. We started the B&B in October 1989, and some of the people who came that first year are still coming.
Mary Lou and I were originally from southeast Kansas, and after college I ended up working for Phillips Petroleum Company in northeast Oklahoma. That job eventually took us overseas to work 5 years in England and 12 years in Norway and many of the things in our house came from those years. Most of them have their story. My idea of a good vacation is going someplace where I can relax, take a nap, quietly read or have a good conversation, so we hope to provide such a place here for you. If you have read any good history books lately, I like recommendations, and conversely, my bookshelves are open to browsing.
Since Mary Lou’s health is failing, my daughter Dana now helps to prepare breakfast, clean the house, and tend the gardens. She also has a private room here where she conducts her massage practice. Dana lives at the end of our drive with her husband and daughters. It’s nice having them only a forty five second walk away.
